GENERAL

It is the policy of UK Global Road Safety Ltd ("UKGRS") to respect personal data, including sensitive personal data that is collected or maintained for the benefit of its customers for whom UKGRS is an authorised service provider.

 

HOW IS PERSONAL INFORMATION OBTAINED AND USED?

When a user first logs into the Online system, opt-in consent is sought from the individual in a clear and conspicuous manner. Users explicitly allow UKGRS to hold, maintain and use their personal data for the purposes mentioned in the consent statement. The information is used to ensure the accuracy of the information delivered to the client. This includes information about upgrades and changes to the functionality of the system that affects the individual. Where consent has been given, the data may also be used to make the individual aware of offers which may be of interest.

There is always an opportunity to opt-out. Under certain circumstances where an individual does not provide the information needed, UKGRS may be unable to provide the services required to the client.

UKGRS will only acquire, collect, maintain, utilize, disclose or transfer individual sensitive personal information at the express instruction/permission of the Client in the course of providing services to such customer, employees and consultants.

The principle of security applies to how we store, process, maintain and protect customer information and information obtained from individuals. UKGRS will take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the confidentiality of its customers' information, account information and personal communications to the fullest extent possible and consistent with the law and the legitimate interests of UKGRS, its partners and its employees. To protect from the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of information and to seek to ensure the integrity of the data that is collected from customers or obtained from individuals, UKGRS and its suppliers seek to have in place, maintain and from time to time improve appropriate technological, physical, electronic, and managerial procedures and undertake reasonable precautions as we deems appropriate.

 

USER RESPONSIBILITIES

If you have a user name and password for any of the features of the Online Training Programme or other systems provided by UKGRS, you have the responsibility of keeping your password secret. You should not reveal your password to anyone. We will never ask you in an unsolicited telephone call or e-mail for your password. In addition, you should take reasonable precautions when using a computer that is not your own or in a public setting.

We will not, except for reasons stated below, otherwise disclose to third parties personal information or the contents of any electronic mail or other electronic communications that we store or transmit for its customers.

There are other conditions under which we will disclose personal information or electronic customer communications. Examples of such circumstances include:

  • when required in order to provide the services to the customer;
  • it is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of UKGRS and its customers;
  • as required by law or regulatory bodies;
  • for certain research purposes to seek to improve driver safety; or
  • when necessary to avert a serious threat to your health; or safety or to the health and safety of another individual or the public.

Where permitted, UKGRS will take all reasonable steps to notify the relevant customer if an external disclosure has been made except where such disclosure would be unlawful.

We will endeavour to destroy all identifying and identifiable data once such data is no longer needed by UKGRS.

 

ACCESS TO DATA

Within UKGRS Online Driver Training Programme, only authorised individuals will have access to the personal data. In each case, such access will be limited to the individuals who require access in order to complete their duties.

Only authorised employees and other agents of UKGRS customers will be given access to the UKGRS Online Driver Training Programme. No other individuals will be given access. In each case, the individuals concerned will only have access to the information for their employer. They will not have access to the identifiable information of other clients.
